My wife and I spent some time at The Franklin Hotel one weekend and what a
weekend it was. Right from the start the service will make you feel
pampered and welcomed. We had a great room, complete with a spacious
balcony overlooking historic Franklin Street and even a pillow menu; who would
of thought of a pillow menu?

There is plenty to see and do in downtown Chapel Hill. Great shopping and a variety of restaurants are right there on Franklin Street, steps from the hotel entrance.

I would strongly recommend the Franklin Hotel to anyone and especially
to anyone who is looking for a romantic weekend.

Jamie thank you for everything!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not only is The Franklin Hotel an outstanding inn for a romantic get away, but the exceptional service, room decor and location would be a great choice for a patient having care at The UNC Medical Center. Each room is beautifully apportioned and the staff will provide luxury service for each hotel guest.
Duke Hospital and MLR
I have used Sam at Medstay for almost a year and a half and he has made life so much simpler for me as I have to frequently travel to Duke for a vaccine trial. My story was I was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain Tumor on 12/16/09. No one in Jax., Fl would touch me as it was on my front right lobe and crossing over to the left side. There was only one surgeon that wanted to even do a biopsy. We researched my options and found Dr. Alan Friedman at Duke, who was touted as “The Neurosurgeon” to go to. We got an appointment with him the following Tuesday, 12/22/09, and scheduled surgery for 12/31/09. To make a long story short, he got 95%-98% of the tumor out and six weeks of radiation and oral chemotherapy pills got the rest. It is now coming up on my year and a half clean MRI’s and I return back to Duke every month as I qualified for a vaccine trial. Personally, I will not do anything without going through Duke Hospital. All this time, the last thing I wanted to think about was arrangements for me and my family. Duke put us in touch with Sam and we don’t stay anywhere but the Washington Duke. They are accomodating, reasonably priced, and the service is the best. I hope the FDA will approve my vaccine to be administered in Florida soon but, in the meantime, am happy to let Sam put me up in a great place and have Duke take care of any medical needs I may have.
A few months ago I received a call from Mrs. Green from Duke Hospital. It was 12:30am on a Sat morning. A few hours earlier Mrs. Green was in AL at her lawyers office when she received a call from her daughter. They were Life Flighting Mr Green, her husband, from AL to Duke within the next hour. She needed to go straight to the hospital if she was to fly with her husband to Duke. She arrives at Duke at 11:30pm on a Friday night, she has a few clothes, no car and no place to stay. She calls us at 12:30 am hoping that we will answer the phone even though we are closed. I answered her call. She had used our service before so she was familiar with our service and me. I placed her in a hotel that has a weekend shuttle and a restaurant (The Millennium Hotel) for the weekend since she had no car. That Monday I placed her in a hotel with a one bedroom suite, kitchen, free daily hot breakfast, free dinner 3 nights/week and a free shuttle to Duke 5 days a week. All for $59/night (The Staybridge). Today I spent time with Mr. Green and his two transplanted lungs. It has been 5 1/2 months and he leaves for home tomorrow. Hoping Mr.Green has a long healthy life.
